After receiving a completed Spousal Hire Relocation form, we will schedule a meeting with the person seeking assistance to talk about career goals, interests, and job opportunities.
We will review the job-seeker's education and experience, employment goals, and main areas of interest.
Then we will research open positions on the IU Indianapolis campus and in the greater Indianapolis area. We may consult with IU Indianapolis Human Resources and the Office of Community Engagement for opportunities.
We will follow up with the job seeker to provide results of our research, make suggestions, and offer additional assistance.
If your candidate needs help finding a faculty position for a spouse, please contact our office. We can discuss assistance in spousal job searches and will make every effort to assist the spouse in finding suitable employment.
When a relocating spouse seeks a staff position at IU Indianapolis or in the community, our office will assist with their search through contacts in Human Resources and the Office of Community Engagement.
Spousal hire assistance at IU Indianapolis does not guarantee employment for the spouse and our offer of assistance does not constitute a contract or create entitlement or obligation with respect to the candidate’s spouse.
