FTE for AC2 appointments is limited based on the position. Those which are 10-month positions are limited to no more than 69% FTE (27 standard hours). Those which are 12-month positions are limited to no more than 49% FTE (19 standard hours). No exceptions to these limits will be approved. Please note that this includes combined FTE with other departments.
Those appointed in AC2 positions MAY NOT be hired into temporary (hourly) positions when there is an active AC2 job – whether there is a contract or not.
Dates for spring semester contracts for AC3s in 10-month positions will default into the edoc; these should not be changed:
Effective date: 1/1/2022 End date: 5/9/2022
Additionally, for student academic appointees: remember that they must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (or a full time equivalent thesis course), and be appointed for at least 15 standard hours to qualify for an AC3 appointment. If these two requirements are not both met, the AC3 appointment will be disapproved, and you must hire them as temporary workers. When properly enrolled and appointed, their enrollment in the Graduate Appointee Healthcare plan is automatic, unless they submit a waiver (available here).
For all new AC2 contracts, the contract type should be either “Semester 2” for 10-month positions, or “12-month” for 12-month positions, and you will enter the appropriate beginning and end date for the contract.
