Teresa Sosa
Teresa Sosa is the director of equity education and director of the IU Indianapolis Next Generation 2.0 programs. She is also associate professor in the School of Education at IU Indianapolis. Her research interests include broadening understandings of how literacy education can be leveraged to disrupt educational injustices in urban high schools and professional development and advancement of underrepresented faculty in higher education. During the 2022-23 academic year, she partook both in program and administration related sessions, meetings, and events to better understand the Next Gen 2.0 program and be well prepared to assume the director role in the 2023-24 academic year. In her current role, she is responsible for leading the strategic development, administration and evaluation of equity education efforts that help faculty in processes related to hiring, promotion and tenure, and teaching and mentoring. In 2021, she was awarded a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Faculty Fellow position by the Office of Academic Affairs and in 2022, she received the Trustees Teaching Award.
