Since 2015, a number of separate but mutually reinforcing activities have been undertaken at IU Indianapolis to ensure that we are continuously striving to create a welcoming and authentically inclusive campus climate. It also is important that the representativeness of our faculty mirrors that of our students in order to contribute to university goals for promoting undergraduate and graduate student success. Relevant activities are depicted below that ultimately have culminated in the need to ensure that our academic policies, procedures, practices, and traditions across schools align with our campus values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The most pressing priority during the 2020-21 academic year is to ensure that the mechanisms by which we recognize and reward faculty effort and achievements in areas that enhance equity and inclusion are appropriately aligned with our campus values.
